Our team have recently completed another ASHP installation utilising the 11kW Ultra Quiet Ecodan System.
The client previously on oil wanted to switch to something more renewable. With the government RHI scheme there has not been a better time to switch to renewable heating.
A common misconception is that air source heat pump systems require UFH to work. This misconception is incorrect and in most properties oversized radiators will sufficiently heat each room even when the outside air temperature is minus 3 degrees, this site for example is running a water flow temperature of just 45 degrees when the ambient air temperature is minus 3.
As part of our works in the property we upgraded the fuse board, replaced all the radiators to suit the heat pump design and installed a new unvented hot water cylinder. The client already had solar PV therefore an Iboost was also installed to assist with heating the hot water for free during the summer months.
As with all of our systems the heat pump is connected to the Melcloud remote control monitoring system and early indications show that the running costs are going to be greatly reduced in comparison to previous bills.
